How to use it
- Find companies you admire or want to emulate. Follow them back through the monthly tabs to see how they have managed their key metrics over time.
- Do the same with companies that are struggling. Their numbers show what to avoid, such as inventory piling up or a cash conversion cycle that keeps stretching.
- Filter to the segment closest to your business, such as digitally native brands with omnichannel sales, to see what is normal for brands like yours.
- Compare your own days of inventory, cash conversion cycle, and marketing spend as a share of revenue with those companies. Every day you cut from the cycle frees cash for growth.
Why we track it
Public brands have to show their work. Their numbers show how much cash inventory ties up, how long it takes to come back, and which companies turn that cash into growth.
That cycle is the reason Elephant Herd Capital exists. We fund inventory and get repaid as it sells, so the cash you would have parked in boxes can go to customer acquisition.
